Event Description

Day of the Dead Race. Our vision is to have the streets of Talent, Oregon filled with runners young and old to be a part of the Day of the Dead Race annual celebration. Our focus is to bring people to celebrate Latin culture, through food, music, dance, and art. Your participation will help shape our culture and bring communities together to promote understanding and unity.

Day of the Dead is a Mexican holiday celebrated throughout Mexico born of Mesoamerican tradition.  For centuries, this holiday based on All Souls Day commemorates the deceased by building altars and ofrendas (offerings) with favorite items and significant possessions of those loved ones now passed.  This holiday is not one that focuses on death but rather the celebration of life!

We understand the positive impact that good health and wellness play in our communities.  By providing opportunities like family fun run, 5k, and 10k races, and culturally diverse events.  We want to support and encourage the community.

About the Race

  • Overall winners and runners who finish in the top three places (male/female) in each race will be awarded a Day of the Dead handmade skull.
  • Runners and supporters can enjoy entertainment that including mariachi, traditional folkloric dance groups, Dj and Zumba.
  • The post-race party brings you authentic and delectable Mexican and Latin American eats, face painting, crafts and booths for kids all in a traditional Day of the Dead celebratory setting.
