Event Description

The Goodwill Running Dead 5K. The Goodwill Running Dead 5k event is CANCELED THIS YEAR 2018…at Pear Blossom Park at The Commons in downtown Medford!

Join the conversation with fans of this event and get daily updates on our Facebook page.  We’re also looking for over 50 volunteers to make this a fun and safe event. Sign up for a volunteer role by October 3. Corporate teams welcomed!

The most unforgettable 5K fun run in the Rogue Valley! Chase or be chased, you choose. Register as individual or teams of Humans, Zombies, or Placed Zombies. Placed Zombies don’t run, they are hiding on the course to steal flags*. Humans get an advanced start on running zombies but will encounter “placed” zombies who will be coming out of hiding at various spots along the 5K course! Humans strive to keep at least one flag at the finish line to compete for Ultimate Survivor for title and prizes. Zombies are vying to grab as many flags as possible in quest to be named King of the Zombies and snatch up the top prize at the Apocalypse Party.

New This Year

  • 5K age limit lowered to 9 years old!
  • Allcare Health Kids Survivor Sprint added for kids ages 4 to 8 (details below).
  • Partnership with Common Block Brewing Company at The Commons!

We’re excited to announce a new partnership with Common Block Brewing Company which will host the Apocalypse Party post-run and is providing every registered runner one $5 certificate redeemable for one year from issue at Common Block Brewing Company’s restaurant or bar! Note that the finish line is at Common Block Brewing Company where you can redeem your certificate immediately for their fantastic menu or for brews, including a special zom-beer exclusively for the Goodwill RD5K! Must be a registered runner with an assigned bib. Only one certificate per runner and each runner must show ID and bib to receive a certificate. Common Block Brewing Company will be open at noon on race day.

Kids Survivor Sprint (ages 4-8 years)!

This year we’re adding a Kids Survivor Sprint for children 4 to 8 years as of 10/22/16 who are accompanied by a parent or guardian. Starting at 4 p.m. registered kids will sprint a course through Pear Blossom Park for all to watch prior to the 5K start. Kids will receive a customized bib, the same race medallion as 5K runners, and will pick up some great swag along their race course. Registration fee is only $10! Kids will be finished before the start of the 5K to cheer on those 9+ participating in the 5K.
