Melomane Music Festival. Mélomane means music lover, and the Mélomane Foundation works to support, encourage, and celebrate music by providing learning and performance opportunities for musicians in Southern Oregon.
The Mélomane Music Festival began in honor of Joshua Wrenn Guillory.
Josh lived his life for the love of music. He was a true mélomaniac. Josh shared his love for music, learning and teaching violin, guitar, trumpet, percussion, and on and on. The love grew, and what materialized was a band named Virus 9. With wide local success, the band began touring the west coast. Then, the opportunity to tour farther east presented itself, and the band kept touring. With these collective experiences, the band learned that success in the music industry is difficult and takes something more than great talent. Success takes resources, connections, equipment, and information.
Mélomane strives to offer this support. The Mélomane Music Festival is an opportunity to express and share the love of music, and give those truly talented musicians a chance to chase their dreams, the way Josh had.
