Event Description

Siskiyou Out Back Trail Run

Join us on July 23, 2016 high above the Rogue Valley for the 16th annual Siskiyou Out Back Trail Run (The SOB)! We have three luscious flavors to choose from.  Enjoy the full flavor of our 50K.  For something less robust but still flavorful try the 15K. Or for those of you that want something truly piquant the  50 Mile distance awaits. Register early as we expect our events to fill quickly again this year. We limit our registration to 275 in the 50K, 250 in the 15K, and 175 in the 50M.  Registration in the two longer races (50M/50K) will be limited to runners 18 years or older unless by prior consent by the Race Directors.

Our three runs begin and end at the Mt. Ashland Lodge at an altitude of 6500 feet. From there the courses meander along the Pacific Crest Trail with breathtaking views of Mt. Shasta, Mt McLaughlin, and the Siskiyou and Cascade mountain ranges. The total course elevation for the 50K is about 4200 feet. The 50 mile features about 7000 feet of climbing.

The 50K and 15K have low base rates which allow for optional t-shirt purchase. The 50K registration is $55 and the 15K is $25. The 50M is $95 and includes a t-shirt AND a cool ceramic finishers mug. All entries include cowbells to the top three finishers in each age group (for all races!), finisher medallions, rockin’ finisher SWAG (for the longer distances), to say nothing of what you’ll find on the course itself: sweet single track, friendly volunteers, well stocked aid stations, dust, rocks, roots, and plenty of sunshine. Plus the 50M and 50K racers will be treated to a lunch (veggie option!) at the finish line. 15K runners and non-runners can purchase the meal at the finish area, for $10. Other registration options for the 50K and 15K include the purchase our t-shirt (both men’s and women’s sizing) for $20. All the cool kids proudly wear their Siskiyou Out Back Trail Run shirt.  Additionally, all racers may purchase one of our cool race coffee steins for $25. These options are only available until June 1st. Mt. Ashland Lodge will be serving up a tasty pasta dinner on Friday night for only $10.00. Join us for dinner from 6:00 until 9:00. Perfect for those camping as well as nervous runners who want to hear John and Rob talk about how fast they used to be.  New this year, we are hosting a free breakfast early Saturday.  Details are provided at registration.

The SOB is a non-profit organization and all profits benefit local non-profit organizations including The Maslow Project, St. Vincent DePaul, the Pacific Crest Trail Association, Mt. Ashland Ski Area, the Ashland Watershed Trails Plan.

Notice: No refunds, transfers or postponements. If you cannot run for any reason, please know that your entry is going the above non-profit organizations. Unless by prior arrangement with the race directors, the t-shirt and mug must be picked up on race day. Any not picked up by the start of your race will be sold to attendees.
