SOU Choirs Concert “Angel Song”: The concert will feature beautiful and festive music from all across the musical style spectrum; from lovely carols, to “high-art” motets, to rousing gospel tunes. The concert will feature some of the most beautiful music in the choral canon and, in addition to separate programs by both choirs, will conclude with two massed choir selections. Complimenting the choirs will be student soloists, piano, organ, and guest instrumentalists. Dr. Paul French, Director of Choral/Vocal Studies at SOU, says of Chamber Choir’s music: “I love this program and am especially looking forward to presenting the music of English composers Will Todd, Oliver Tarney and Alexander L’Estrange, as well as the lush harmonies of Swiss composer Ivo Antognini. And hearing Jodi French play the gospel numbers is going to be worth the price of admission all by itself!” Kendra Taylor, Concert Choir’s newly appointed conductor, says: “I am so looking forward to presenting my first concert with the talented SOU Concert Choir. The music is lyrical and beautiful and I am thrilled to get started!”
